New Research

Among the new research topics being investigated at Energent are:

A broad range of research topics are pursued at Energent. A variable conductance heat pipe applied to a Kawasaki two-stroke motorcycle engine exhibited uniform temperatures and a fuel economy improvement of over 20%. Heat pipe technology was also analyzed for temperature regulation of fuel cell reformate and for energy recovery from electronics.

Another patented technology in development is a transcritical CO2 turbo-compressor. Application of the Variable Phase Turbine in a hermetic turbo-compressor assembly will result in a low cost unit that can improve the efficiency of CO2 refrigeration and heat pump systems by up to 35%.

Compact separation of gases and liquids and of gases with differing molecular weights are additional research topics currently being investigated.

Computational fluid dynamic studies and finite element stress analysis in support of Energent research and Cryogenic Group products are conducted by Energent.
